The holiday's are a time for giving, sharing and fun!
So, what's a better way to celebrate this joyous season than to take part in a festive Christmas-themed blog hop and share amazing books, characters, authors, etc...with all of you.
I've teamed up with a great group of bloggers via the Facebook group Bookish Blog Hops. This hop runs from Dec 1st-15th and during the blog hop members of the group will be coming together to answer bookish questions (you can find the complete schedule for the blog hop down below at the end of this post).
Today's Christmas topic is to share A Book that is Set at Christmas.
Like the old saying goes, in for a penny, in for a pound. Instead of just sharing 1 book set at Christmas, how about an entire series?!
My selection is the Arctic Shifters (8 Book Series) by R.E. Butler
This series follows the members of Santa's Sleigh Team and each story takes place around Christmas Eve.
Each short story focuses on one sexy shifter (reindeer) and his fated mate.
These stories are fast paced and full of fun and love. The characters are adorable, the men are delicious and story lines are oozing with holiday spirit.
So grab one (or the entire series), cozy up my the fire and get ready for a fantastic sleigh ride.

I am a great fan of Sir Terry Pratchett so I would recommend Hogfather as a book set at Christmas. I love how Pratchett’s stories are so readable; simple and with thrilling plot-lines. But they also have so many layers.
With quotes such as, “Humans need fantasy to be human. To be the place where the falling angel meets the rising ape”, this novel is about the nature of belief and philosophy and has me nodding along in so many parts. Hogfather is about what it is to be human.

One book that I always recommend when asked about a book set during Christmas is The Christmas Train by David Baldacci.
While a bit cheesy, this is a wonderfully light read and the atmosphere of this novel makes it a perfect book to read or reread during the holiday season. The storyline is wonderful, the characters are fun and interesting, and there are splashes of humor throughout.

I’m going to pick a book I read last year but that fits this question perfectly. A Christmas Kiss by Susan Hatler. Hatler is a master of writing easy read, short romance novels. I’ve enjoyed numerous books by her (including others in the Kissed by the Bay series).
About the book:

I chose a book from the Queen of Mystery Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot’s Christmas.
Multi-millionaire Simeon Lee gathers his family to his mansion for a Christmas gathering. He dies of course and through the intricate weaving of who everyone is in the family, Poirot has to solve the mystery not just of Lee’s death, but of the family as well. It’s a great book.

I usually say Visions of Sugar Plums, by Janet Evanovich. But, figured your sick of hearing her name by now. lol
So, I’ll suggest the one I just read recently. Six Cats a Slayin' by Miranda James. I got to read it as an arc novel, and never read her others. I loved this one. The main character gets a box of five kitties and has to find out who they belong too, plus a new neighbor who mysteriously dies at her own Christmas party that he attended. Lots of twists and turns that’ll blow your mind. And it has kitties, who doesn’t love kitties? hehe

I am going to go with a book that has always been the epitome of Christmas in my mind. It is a story that was read to me as a child and that I continue to love to share with my kids. A story that really gets down to the nitty gritty of what Christmas is. That book is How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Dr Seuss had a special talent of being able to sneak deep life lessons into his stories through humour and rhyme, that you often didn’t see the lesson you had learnt until after you had finished. In How The Grinch Stole Christmas he demonstrates that Christmas is a spiritual experience, and not one based on consumerism, wealth or gifts.
