She's infamous.
He's legendary.
Together, they'll be epic...or a complete train wreck. It could go either way, really...

Hi and Welcome!

I'm Sarah and I still love to read fairy-tales

They are just a whole lot sexier now.

I'm a fan of fiction but Paranormal Romance is my true north on the literary compass.

I eat, sleep and breathe ParaRom and am thrilled to share this obsession with you.

Bookish Blog Hops: Valentines Hop

Love is in the air! Are you ready for another fun and "holiday" themed bookish blog hop?

Good! Because, I've teamed up with a great group of bloggers via the Facebook group Bookish Blog Hops. This is a perfect way to share amazing books, characters, authors, etc...with all of you.

This hop runs from February 1st-15th and during the blog hop members of the group will be coming together to answer bookish questions (you can find the complete schedule for the blog hop down below at the end of this post).

Today's topic is to share:

A book you bought for it’s beautiful cover that’s just as beautiful inside too.

As soon as I read the topic, one book instantly came to mind.

My selection is Entwined by Heather Dixon.

Honestly, the picture of the cover doesn't do justice to how gorgeous it is in person.

Entwined is a retelling of the classic tale "The Twelve Dancing Princesses," where the eldest princess must fight to save her family—and her heart—from an ancient dark magic within her palace walls.

I was enchanted by the book from the very beginning. I love Azalea, our main character and the eldest sister. Her family has suffered a great loss and to forget about their troubles for just a moment, she and her eleven sisters walk through an enchanted passage in their room to dance in the "Keeper's" silver forest.

Unfortunately, this enchanted escape comes at a cost and Azalea realizes that she must save her sisters from the dark fate before it's too late.

So many things about this book are beautiful; the writing, the characters (names and personalities), the imagery, the sister's relationships, the dancing, and the sweet romance.

Reading this story was absolutely magical and I can't recommend it enough.

Now let's see how the rest of the Bookish Blog Hops gang answered this question.

Stormi

Secrets in the Snow by Michaela MacColl is one of the prettiest books I own.

The dust cover and the fact that it's a fictionalized story about a young Jane Austen first caught my attention.

When I had the actual book in my hands I noticed the details on the inside and on the hardback cover under the dust jacket were just as gorgeous as the rest of the book.

Leslie Conzatti

I don’t generally buy books sight-unseen--but I have been known to be attracted to books because of the cover, so I’ll typically check for them at the library, read them first--if I like them, I may end up buying them.

Books like The Inkheart Trilogy by Cornelia Funke, or The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer… The Ruby Red Trilogy by Kerstin Gier… The Chronicles of Lorrek by Kelly Blanchard and The Fair Folk Chronicles by Jeffrey Cook and Katherine Perkins are a few series with some truly gorgeous covers!

Jo Linsdell

I loved the concept of the cover for The Defrosting of Charlotte Small by Annabel Giles. It was beautiful in it’s simplicity.

Sometimes less is more, and that was definitely the case with this book. The story was raw and beautiful all at the same time.

Brandy Potter

I don’t usually go by the cover. I tend to stick to Authors that I like. However, I am VERY picky about my fantasy Novels. My mother borrowed The Diamond Throne by David Eddings from the library. I wasn’t going to read it. She was very into Robert Jordan and I didn’t like The Wheel of Time series (I know about a bazillion of you are going to jump me for that, but every time I tried to read The Eye of the world, I fell asleep. Please forgive me :) ). But the cover of this book was so intriguing to me. How did the Queen get in the glass box? Why was the knight kneeling? Was she dead? The reason I asked all of these questions was because of this exquisite cover. It drew me in. I am so glad it did though because I fell in love with the character of this series (The Elenium and Tamuli) and then I fell in love with the characters in The Belgariad/Mallorean series. (Not so much The Dreamers though.) He has been a tremendous inspiration for me!
